Another day, another Highlands post. The Highlands is a great area if you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood for a meal but don’t want to go too far out of the city, and certain parts of the neighborhood almost feel like a small town despite being just a few blocks from downtown.

Let me know what you guys think of these spots.

Blue Pan – Pizza

Blue Pan might just have the best pizza I’ve had in Denver so far, and maybe even the best Detroit-style pizza I’ve ever eaten. It’s thick, it’s juicy, there are plenty of different options to choose from, and most of the ingredients are made in-house. It can be a little pricey, but I’d say it’s well-worth the money.

Fox and the Hen – Brunch

Fox and the Hen is easily the best brunch restaurant in the Highlands, with a laid back atmosphere perfect for a bite to eat on a weekend (or any day, for that matter). There’s inside and outside seating, and a nice bar you can sit at as well.

Hampton Social – Seafood

I recently visited this spot for the first time, and I already can’t wait to go back. Since grilled cheese and tomato soup is one of my favorite dishes on the entire planet, it was an absolute delight to see that they had the truffle lobster melt and bisque on the menu. The ambiance of the place is nice, it’s in a great location and the patio is perfect in the summertime. I’m not the biggest fan of seafood, but this place does it well.

I will say it’s not preferable that this restaurant is part of a hospitality conglomerate, but do what you will with that information. It’s also pretty expensive, but that’s understandable if they import the seafood like they say they do.

Kumoya – Sushi

Kumoya is definitely the best sushi restaurant in the Highlands, and one of the best sushi spots I’ve found in Denver thus far. It’s a very intimate atmosphere, the prices are actually mostly reasonable, and it’s overall an excellent dining experience. The drinks are great too, a little strong, but still very good. They also have a nice and almost hidden bar area in the back of the restaurant.

Tony P’s – Italian

I won’t speak too much on Tony P’s because I feel like I’ve written about it a bunch here already, but it’s great. The wood fired pizzas, the drinks, the desserts, all amazing.
