3 Places That Changed My Life

Written by:

Another week, another post reminiscing over my long-past quests of invigorating adventure and thrilling global exploration. This Wednesday we have a list of places that I’ve traveled to that had a profound effect on me and have effectively shaped who I am today.

Edinburgh, Scotland

I’m sure there will be widespread agreement on this one from those of you that have already visited, but Edinburgh is truly a life changing city. From the aged stone buildings to the winding alleyways to the cobblestone city squares, Edinburgh has an incredibly rich history to it that not many cities present in such an extraordinary way.

Traveling to Edinburgh is an experience that I recommend everyone does at least once in their life, and you’re never going to want to leave. Even just wandering through the winding cobblestone streets will lend you a new perspective on life as you physically see how the city has evolved over centuries and centuries of development.

Glacier National Park, USA

Despite having gone on camping trips with my friends to Zion, Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone, and plenty of other national parks, Glacier was easily the trip that stuck in my mind the most. I’m not sure if it was the incredible views of the snowcapped mountains, the perfect campsite we managed to secure, the crystal-clear lakes or the combination of them all, but I haven’t been able to get this place out of my head ever since.

Glacier National Park is the place that convinced me that I wanted to live near mountains, and here I am living in Colorado.

Villa La Angostura, Argentina

On the off-chance that any of you have ever been to Villa La Angostura, you would know that it’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Sitting on the shores of Lago Nahuel Huapi in the Andes Mountains on the Chile-Argentina border, the town is surrounded by vast lakes and towering mountain peaks the likes of which you won’t find many other places in the world.

While it’s an awe-inspiring place on its own, it’s even better that I went with two of my best friends. The trip was one that I will never forget, and I’m determined to one day venture further south and explore Patagonia. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to do that with friends too.

Thank you for reading! I hope this post motivates you to travel to life-changing locations and make memories that you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life, and I hope one day I’ll be able to return to all of these places once more.
