Looking for something to do this holiday season instead of sitting inside and waiting for the new Stranger Things episodes to come out? Don’t worry, I have a list of activities right here to get you out and about.
Ice Skating at Steinberg Rink
Little did you know that St. Louis is home to the biggest outdoor ice-skating rink in the Midwest, located right in Forest Park. Unfortunately, it’s closed this year for renovations, but it’s always a great opportunity to make the most of the snowy conditions and have some fun.
Las Posadas
Los Posadas is a huuuge procession on Main Street St. Charles celebrating the birth of Jesus. The streets get absolutely flooded with thousands of people, everyone carries candles, someone brings a live donkey, and it’s quite the spectacle. Even if you aren’t Christian, it’s still a cool event to see.

Main Street St. Charles Horse & Carriage Rides
If you visit Main Street St. Charles throughout the winter, you might be able to catch a ride on a very festive and Christmas-decorated horse-drawn carriage. Riding behind a gigantic horse in an antique carriage down historic Main Street might just be the closest thing to a time machine.
Cherokee Street Print Bazaar
I went to the print bazaar this past weekend and it blew my mind how big and popular it was. It spans multiple blocks, and you can wander in and out of each building and see dozens and dozens of print vendors, each selling print of their own unique art style. It’s one of the Midwest’s biggest print sales, with vendors coming from far and wide to showcase their art. It’s a really cool experience, and I highly recommend you check it out.

Soulard Market
Since St. Louis was initially a trading post, the Soulard farmer’s market does a fantastic job of representing the city’s history and roots. During the holiday season, the market does a great job of decorating for the holidays, with seasonal vendors and loads of Christmas decor.
Winterfest
Winterfest is an awesome tradition where Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis is populated with dozens of fun winter activities such as ice skating, firework displays, 5Ks, and much more. This year is its tenth anniversary, and it lasts from November 22nd to January 11th. It’s a great time, and it’s especially cool that it’s right under the Gateway Arch.
I hope this list helps encourages you to go out and have some fun this holiday season! Drop a follow for a new blog post every Wednesday at 12pm CST, and comment below if you have any other recommendations for events to check out this winter in STL!
Happy holidays and thank you for reading!
