Top St. Louis Winter Activities to Stay Active

Written by:

Since winter is upon us, I figured I would make a post for all of us that are trying to stay in shape through the cold part of the year – but also not just be confined to our local gym and maybe make a few friends along the way.

18 North Central

Guys… this is the place to be. I went for the first time this past Monday, and it’s probably the most fun I’ve had in years. They have something called “Tactical Laser Tag,” and it’s essentially laser tag for adults. Realistic guns, with expertly constructed indoor and outdoor arenas and different game modes. It’s an absolute blast, especially with friends, and I could not recommend it more.

They also have other stuff like Demo Ball and axe throwing, but the laser tag is easily the highlight.

Yeah, it’s the real deal.

Hot Chocolate Run

On December 7th this year, Skechers is hosting a “Hot Chocolate Run” for all of you runners out there. You can choose to run either a 5k or a 15k around the downtown St. Louis area, and with your registration you get a jacket and free chocolate goodies at the end of the race. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Vetta Sports

If you’re a retired soccer player like myself and are looking for a place to keep your skills polished, Vetta has multiple great indoor soccer facilities around St. Louis. It’s slightly different from regular soccer since it’s played in something like a repurposed hockey rink with turf flooring, but it’s a blast. They have different competition levels for people who are either looking for a more competitive league or looking to just have some fun, as well as having different skill levels.

It’s a great time if you’re looking to play some soccer as well as meet some new people, and I highly recommend joining a team.

Thank you for reading! Since these are just activities that I have personal experience with, let me know in the comments what you would recommend for me to try! Drop a like and follow the blog for a new post every Wednesday.

On a side note, I’m moving to Colorado at the start of the new year! So, drop a bunch of restaurants, coffee and bar recommendations for the Denver area in the comments below, and any other activities or events that I should check out. That also means that you can expect quite a bit of Denver and other Colorado content in the months to come, so just a heads up.

Have a great week!
