Top Coffee Shops in NYC: My Weekend Picks

If you follow my Instagram, you probably know that I visited New York City this past weekend for a music festival, and you also probably know by now that I like myself a good cup of coffee. So, here is a list of all of the coffee shops I visited in the three days I spent in Manhattan.

Oases – Chelsea

One of the less cramped and fancier coffee shops that I visited, Oases is a very modern Japanese-style coffee shop on W 14th street in Chelsea. It’s surprisingly spacious, with lots of cool decorations and great coffee. They also have a really nice brunch area that I wish I tried.

Variety Coffee Roasters

Apparently this is a huge chain of coffee shops in NYC, but it was a great spot nonetheless. I went to their Lexington Avenue location, and the shop had a nice vintage feel with relatively low prices compared to everywhere else I visited in the city.

Artisan Cafe – Upper West Side

Artisan Cafe is a small shop on the quiet part of Amsterdam Avenue in the Upper West Side, and if you’re looking for a flavored coffee of some kind, this is the place to go. The shop specializes in different coffee flavors with the syrups that they use, so if you’re looking for a s’more flavored coffee then this one is for you. I’m not the biggest fan of the mass-produced flavor syrups that companies create for coffee these days so it wasn’t my favorite place, but it’s not the worst coffee shop I’ve ever been to.

Oslo – West Village

This was probably my favorite coffee shop that I visited. It has a ton of character, great coffee, and it’s in a nice and quiet spot on 10th Street. It doesn’t have a whole lot of room in case you’re looking for somewhere more spacious, but I really liked the vibe of this shop and I’m sure you would too.

Yanni’s Coffee – Chelsea

Yanni’s is a small coffee shop on 7th Avenue with warm modern rustic vibes and great service. It was a nice spot to get some work done before our traffic-ridden ride to the airport, and if you’re like us, it’s a great spot to people watch. Apparently they also have delicious cookies and pastries, but unfortunately I didn’t try any.

Since there are about a million billion coffee shops in Manhattan, I most definitely missed at least one. Let me know in the comments which shops I should visit my next time in NYC, and what you think of the ones on this list!

Make sure to follow for a new post every Wednesday and, as always, have a great week!
