Night Life Recommendations In and Around St. Louis

Since summer is here and it’s finally starting to cool off, here are a few night life recommendations for anyone that’s looking to finally get out of their house and enjoy a hot summer night out on the town.

Ballpark Village

Ballpark Village next to Busch Stadium is a great spot for a night of dancing and fun after a ball game. There are multiple different bars to bounce between, all with different vibes and crowds. But beware – lines can get long and crowds can get crazy, so come prepared. Drinks are also pretty expensive, so just know what you’re in for.

McGurk’s Irish Pub

McGurk’s is a pretty sprawling Irish pub not far from Molly’s in Soulard. The drinks aren’t too spendy, and there is lots of room to spread out in the pub with multiple bars as well as a large patio. I’ve only been in the wintertime so it probably looked pretty different from what it does now, but it’s still a good time nonetheless.

Side note – the food here is also pretty good. I recommend the chicken strips or the toasted ravioli.

Mississippi Underground

If you’re into house, techno or even dubstep music, Mississippi Underground is probably the best option for you. It’s the closest thing to a rave that St. Louis has to offer, and you’ll definitely get the seedy, underground vibes that a lot of rave places go for. If possible, I highly recommend you see Umbrella Underground when they play there.

Molly’s in Soulard

Molly’s is probably the most popular spot in Soulard and the surrounding area on any given Friday or Saturday. It has both inside and outside areas, with lots of space to spread out. The music is also pretty good; However, the drinks can get pretty expensive since you’re paying typical city prices (~$9 for well drinks).

Tin Roof

About a block away from Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village is the Tin Roof, a large bar with live music and plenty of space. This bar gets pretty busy especially after ball games, so if you’re looking for a place to go after watching the Cardinals lose again and don’t want to spend the money at Ballpark Village, Tin Roof is probably your best bet.

NEW: 360 Westport Elevated Sundays

One of the only places in the city to party on Sundays is now 360 Westport’s rooftop bar in the Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights. Every Sunday they have live DJs playing fire sets and the vibes are almost always better than most places are on Saturdays. You get to watch the sunset, listen to great music, have a few drinks, and make it a great start to the week.

If you can, I highly recommend you catch sets from Rops & Charles, Guti, or Rafa Carta, but the DJ lineup is always carefully handpicked so you’ll always be in for a treat.
