More St. Louis Area Coffee Recommendations

Here are a few more coffee spots that I’ve found since I made the last STL coffee recommendations post. All of these shops have great coffee, so I decided to focus more on the shop itself.

Deer Creek Coffee

Deer Creek Coffee is a really cozy and quiet cafe in the Ladue area. It’s a great spot to sit for an afternoon, read a book, or enjoy one of their delicious sandwiches. I went there on a rainy weekend morning and it was an amazing spot to hang out.

Hartford Coffee

This coffee shop is in a quiet neighborhood near Forest Park, with tons of indoor and outdoor seating and super friendly staff. I’m not sure what it was, but something about this place made me feel like I was in the super rural Midwest, it might’ve been the decor style or older interior, but it was a strange feeling. That’s not a bad thing by any means, just an observation I had.

Northwest Coffee Roasting Company

As the name states, this is a coffee roastery that’s tucked away in a quiet part of the city also near Forest Park. They have a massive gravel patio with tons of shaded seating and super friendly staff, as well as a nice indoor seating area too. But, as some of you well know, St. Louis can get swelteringly hot in the summer, so the patio seating my not always be the best idea even in the shade.

Protagonist Cafe

Protagonist is a good-sized corner coffee shop in the Soulard area right around where they have Mardi Gras every year. I will say it has a very interesting interior, with lots of literary references and strange design choices, and the decision of having bright green and purple wallpapers really perplexes me. I understand the Mardi Gras deal, but it doesn’t make it any easier to look at lol.

Regardless, I want to visit their new Antagonist Cafe, which is also in the Soulard neighborhood. I’m a huge fan of when businesses, especially coffee shops, don’t just make a complete copy of their other location(s), and instead put a new spin on it and make it a unique discernable place. Huge fan.

Shaw’s Coffee

Shaw’s Coffee is easily my favorite coffee spot on this list, and maybe one of my favorite coffee shops I’ve ever been to. It’s a corner coffee shop on The Hill, the Italian neighborhood of St. Louis, and it’s an amazing place to spend a sunny weekend afternoon and watch the people and cars pass by. They have a nice patio as well as lots of seating by the windows, and the interior is beautiful. It’s built in an old bank, so it has all of the old ceiling and wall styles with some added plants and stuff, making it a super nice spot to hang out.

Their coffee is also incredibly tasty and very affordable. Could not recommend more.

This is the only picture I have of any of these places 😦

Teleo Coffee

And finally, Teleo Coffee is a really nice and unique coffee spot that’s built out of a house in Kirkwood. They have a really great patio (or in this case, front porch) with a great view of the quiet and picturesque block that the shop is on. Overall, it’s a great shop with a ton of character.

If you have any coffee recommendations for me, I’d love to hear them. Drop a comment below and leave a like if this list helped you!

Cheers!
