Ah, brunch. The best part of any day. You can choose between having a delicious breakfast burrito or a tasty sandwich, and the restaurant will serve you either one of them happily. A nice Saturday and you can sit in the warm sun, have a nice chat and maybe even enjoy a cocktail – all with the rest of the day ahead of you!
Without further ado, here are a few of my favorite places to spend a quiet weekend morning in the St. Louis area!
Bowood
Bowood is an adorable brunch place that’s situated inside Bowood Farms’ greenhouse/garden nursery. They have plenty of seating inside and outside, and it’s a great spot to spend a quiet and relaxed Saturday morning. I recommend taking a look around the place once you’re done eating, since they have quite the collection of plants and other products for people with green thumbs, as well as they have classes, workshops and events for anyone into gardening and art.
As far as food goes, I recommend either the Eggs Benedict or the egg toast.

City Coffee & Creperie
Centrally located right in downtown Clayton, City Coffee & Creperie is a tasty brunch spot with tons of delicious options both sweet and savory. You can either watch these French crepe specialists make your crepe right behind the counter, or go have a seat on their lovely stylish terrace while you await their delivery. Their coffee is equally delicious, and nothing beats washing down an incredible crepe with a swig of an iced latte.
Honestly, I don’t have one specific recommendation because ALL of the crepes are amazing. Just writing about them is getting my stomach rumbling.
Deer Creek Coffee
Deer Creek Coffee is a coffeehouse with fantastic food choices. It has plenty of seating with great coffee as well, so it’s an overall great choice to spend a morning chilling with a tasty breakfast and getting some work done.
Personally, I recommend the Ranger crepe. It hits the spot.
Maplewood Deli & Coffeehouse
This is a nice corner cafe in maplewood with tasty brunch combos and great vibes. It has plenty of options to choose from, with sandwiches, burritos, waffle combos and more, as well as an added brunch menu on the weekends. It’s also very reasonably-priced.
My favorite part about this cafe is that they have a ‘pay-it-forward’ board, where you can pre-pay for a coffee or a menu item and post a sticky note on the board with the item name and who the item is intended for (i.e. ‘breakfast sandwich for someone having a rough day’). It’s small touches like this that add character to these small coffeehouses.

Let me know in the comments if you have any other STL brunch recommendations, or what you think of these places!
Enjoy!
