Even more coffee recommendations! Budapest has some great spots to grab a cup of coffee and chill for a bit before going back out and seeing more of the beautiful sights the city has to offer, so give these places a try!
Note: For those of you that don’t know, Budapest is actually comprised of two cities: Buda and Pest. Buda is on the west side of the Danube river and Pest is on the east.
Since I stayed at The Hive Party Hostel on the Pest side of the city during my time there and didn’t have much time to explore the Buda side, all of these spots are in Pest. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to go back and give you all some recommendations for the Buda side!
Another note: I’ve started linking the cafe’s website to the name so it’s easier for you guys to get more info if you’d like.
Fanka
Tucked away on a quiet street just a block or two away from The Hive, Fanka is a great spot to sit down, cool off for a bit and recharge your social battery. Not only is the coffee great, but the food is really good as well.

Fekete
Fekete is a small and quiet coffee shop placed in a small courtyard. It’s a fantastic spot to sit and get some work done if you need, and the coffee is amazing. Sitting in the open-topped courtyard also means that you get all the fresh air without having to deal with the loud city noises, so that’s a huge plus.

Madal
Madal is a small cafe just down the street from the Hungarian Parliament Building, so once you’ve seen enough of that incredibly mind-blowing building you can have yourself a great cup of coffee here. It has a nice modern wooden interior with lots of space if you need to get work done and a good amount of windows for natural lighting.
New York Cafe
Alas, the (allegedly) world-famous New York Cafe. It’s been named the “World’s most beautiful cafe”, and, while beauty is of course subjective, it is a very pretty cafe. Its interior is incredibly ornate, with murals on the ceiling and Baroque-style (I think that’s what it’s called) walls and decor. They also have a small live orchestra playing and everything seems very high-class.
That being said, it is also incredibly expensive. If you’re hoping to buy food along with a coffee, be prepared to spend like $50USD. The food is also, in my opinion, not worth the price at all, but if you’re wanting the full experience then do what you feel is best. The line to get in is also usually pretty long, so try to time it right.

Pantry Brunch & Coffee
The Pantry is an adorable little brunch and coffee spot with delicious food options and great coffee. The vibes here are amazing, the interior is colorful and vibrant and it’s overall an amazing place to start your day.

While I’m sure there are dozens and dozens of other amazing coffee places in Budapest, these are just a few that I had the privilege of enjoying during my 4-day stay in this beautiful city.
Enjoy!
